Christoph Schlingensief

Christoph Schlingensief (1960–2010) was a German filmmaker, installation and performance artist, and theater director who was something of a provocateur, tilting at authority and the status quo during Germany's post–Cold War reunification period. He is best known in his own country for a trilogy of films that deconstructed 20th-century German history via a nonlinear mash-up of imagery, including footage of blood and gore from B-level horror movies. This show provides an opportunity for American viewers to become acquainted with some of his work.
