Much like Eadweard Muybridge, Edgerton was a photographic experimenter who happened to create images that become widely viewed as art. And like Muybridge, he was also deeply interested in motion studies, pioneering high-speed techniques that froze moments too fast for the eye—a bullet bursting a balloon, the splash of a water droplet.
