Lee Kit, "1, 2, 3, 4?."

The work of this Hong Kong artist takes otherwise ordinary-looking objects and transports them into a kind of limbo between art and life. For instance, he creates hand-painted, checkered "tablecloths" and "curtains" that are temporarily used as same, before being carefully displayed as artworks alongside photos documenting their flirtation with functionality. A series of paintings on cardboard does something similar with the labels of skin-care products.
