Margot Bird, “Poodle Saga”

What could possibly go better together than extraterrestrials and poodles? Not much, if you follow the logic behind Margot Bird’s puckish paintings. Employing acid-washed colors, and a drawing style that seems to have escaped from an adolescent’s diary, Bird depicts unlikely encounters between the two species, including a scene of canine scientists conducting an alien autopsy. Somehow, gold dookie chains play a role in this, as well.
