"New Shadow Old Legs"

This group exhibition features five contemporary artists whose works take inspiration from the oeuvre of Alan Shields (1944–2005), a member of the late-’60s postminimalist generation. Shields was known for brightly colored pieces—often made out of cut and sewn fabrics—that combined painting and installation. The artists here—Sarah Crowner, Andrew Gbur, Xylor Jane, Ruth Laskey, Florian Morlat and Alexander Wolff—mine a similar vein.
