Nick Mead, "Paintings"

This special one-week show features several of Mead's new paintings. Mixing abstraction and representation, Mead paints a jungle of thick black lines speckled with eyeball-like shapes. The painting's "eyes" turn the gaze back on the viewer, forcing them to question the often one-sided relationship of looking and interpretation.
