“Russian Modernism: Cross-Currents of German and Russian Art, 1907-1917”

Between the turn of the 20th century and the onset of World War I, artists from Germany and Russia traveled back and forth between the two countries seeding radical movements in each with an exchange of ideas that influenced the course of 20th-century art. This exhibition revisits that period of cross-fertilization, with a particular emphasis on the development of German and Russian Expressionism.
