Virginia Poundstone, "Total Meltdown"

An FTD floral arrangement, which the artist once received as a gift, serves as the inspiration for her exploration of the flower and its odd position between nature, where it's from, and culture, where it often plays a role as a commodified token of sentiment or object of contemplation. The works here include photos on perforated vinyl, pressed-flower pieces, and sculptures in bronze and glass.
