Out in the Silence

When codirector (along with Dean Hamer) Joe Wilson's same-sex wedding announcement sparks controversy in his Pennsylvania hometown, he heads back home to capture the related brouhahas, centering around a bullied gay high-school student, a couple of do-gooder dykes trying to revitalize a historic theater in town, and the evil homophobic activist who just won't back down from her mission. The doc screens as part of the Tribeca Cinemas Doc Series, and the directors will be in attendance today.
