"Samurai in New York: The First Japanese Delegation, 1860"

The exhibition offers a glimpse of the Big Apple 150 years ago, when 70 samurai from Japan visited, sparking a flurry of parades and balls and a barrage of media coverage. Children will see 19th-century photographs, newspaper engravings, costumes of the time, and artwork and objects on loan from various Japanese institutions.
