Time Out says

Williamsburg may be hipster central now, but not long ago it was home to a large number of family-run businesses who advertised with an array of colorful, sculptural signage (think supersized fake hammers and roller skates). Billyburg resident and writer Karen Hudes has researched the history behind these icons, many of which were crafted in the '80s by Stanley Wisniewolski. Photos of the signs will be on view, along with a number of the original Styrofoam sculptures.
