New York Philharmonic: The Art of the Score

In a tantalizing run-up to the season proper (which opens Sept 25), the New York Philharmonic queues up its first-ever film-music celebration. First in line is a two-night tribute to thriller master Alfred Hitchcock, whose celluloid achievements were enhanced with classic scores by Bernard Herrmann and Dimitri Tiomkin, among others. Philharmonic mainstay Alec Baldwin hosts tonight, and Sam Waterston presides tomorrow; Constantine Kitsopoulos conducts.
