The Pink Room: David Lynch Burlesque's Third Annual Miss Twin Peaks Pageant (slide show)

The Miss Twin Peaks Pageant returned for another night of surreal glitz and glamour.

This year’s Miss Twin Peaks Pageant is in the history books, and once again, Francine “The Lucid Dream” and her burly-Q buddies put on a damn fine (and damn bizarre) show. This year’s Lynchian installment, held at Joe’s Pub on Saturday, January 25, saw Amelia “Log Lady” Bareparts taking home the crown—“I am honored, and will faithfully execute the duties of Miss Twin Peaks 2014,” the proud winner announced to the world afterward. (Apparently, she also accidently broke said crown. But "behind all things are reasons. Reasons can even explain the absurd.") (That last bit is a Log Lady quote, by the way.) Special props have to go to Schäffer the Darklord, who played a demanding duel role: dark-haired Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks’ first season, and white-haired (and substantially crazier) Leland Palmer from the second season.
