Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company: Awakening

Nai-Ni Chen, whose choreography often drew on her Chinese-American heritage, died in December—but her contemporary dance company is soldiering on in her honor. The program at NYLA includes the premiere of her final work, the martial arts–inflected Unity, as well as Incense (2003), Truthbound (2018), Shadow Force (2020) and Introspection (2019).
