Metropolis

As in Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, the simplistic yet convoluted narrative of this anime serves mostly as a distraction from magnificent dystopian imagery. Yet the crude character design and stutter-step motions also prove distracting—it’s like watching the Katzenjammer Kids wandering through a De Chirico landscape.
