Paranoid Park

Van Sant’s latest initially seems like a Larry Clark movie—a skater hangs out with his buds, makes out with some girls, witnesses a friend’s death. Except the director’s still getting the Euro art-film jones out of his system and thus, he turns what could have been teensploitation into a mood piece. Bravo!
