Time Out says

MacKenzie’s lost indie captures gorgeous b&w images of the unglamorous side of Los Angeles and casts a sympathetic eye on that city’s Native Americans. But to praise it any further is to demean the truly landmark debuts of many other filmmakers, those who actually remembered to bring a boom mike to the set and eschew corny “inner thought” monologues. Also on the bill is MacKenzie's short "Bunker Hill" (1956).
