The People vs. Larry Flynt

An oddball cultural touchstone, Forman’s largely sympathetic biopic about Hustler publisher Larry Flynt recasts the pornographer as a First Amendment martyr. The movie features one good performance (Woody Harrelson as the man in the wheelchair), one great performance (Edward Norton as Flynt’s lawyer) and, er, Courtney Love as a long-suffering wife to a charismatic cult figure.
