Slurp down oysters on the half shell at this tasting and talk, led by Noank Aquaculture Cooperative founder Karen Rivara. She will explain the differences between varieties, like Peconic Pearl and Connecticut Mystic, as well as the ins and outs of oyster farming. Wash down the briny treats with a pint of local craft beer, such as Carton Boat (New Jersey), Greenport Harbor Pale Ale (North Fork) and Barrier Brewing (Long Island). Each ticket includes one brew and a half dozen oysters. Still hungry? Order oyster specials or plates from Jimmy’s No. 43’s regular menu, as well as additional beers ($6–$8). Proceeds benefit Slow Food NYC.
