Just Brew It Astoria: Homebrewers Beer Contest

Beer geeks can throw around terms like attenuation, krausen and gravity at this backyard home-brew contest, showcasing a dozen or so local DIY-ers. Guests will sample and judge each beer based on aroma, taste, appearance and overall impression; the winning brewer will take home a $500 prize, along with bragging rights. Admission price includes Mexican nibbles by host Pachanga Patterson, such as pulled-pork tacos with pasilla chili and mustard greens.
