Mastic Week

Learn about mastic––a raw tree resin used for food, health and beauty purposes—during this weeklong celebration at goat's-milk ice cream parlor Victory Gardens. Check out a special menu featuring treats like mastic brownie sundaes ($7) and mastic, carrot and ginger soup ($6); you can also peruse kitchen and beauty products from the Mastiha Shop, which sells an array of items made with the stuff. Throughout the week, Artemis Kohas (Mastiha) and Sophia Brittan (Victory Garden) will offer three free seminars on the benefits of the natural, all-purpose ingredient (Feb 23 at 7pm; Feb 25, 26 at 3pm).
