Do like the Aussies and drink beer in the sun on Anzac Day, a national holiday honoring soldiers who fought during World War I. The New York Magpies—an expat sports club—hosts the bash at the Frying Pan, with live music and $5 drinks. Throw back Australian brews like Coopers and Boag's Premium, or sip a selection of wines from Jacob's Creek. Between 2 and 5pm, the Sunburnt Cow team will serve free BBQ, so you can fill up on steak sandwiches, burgers and sausages; if you want something sweet, pick up a bag of traditional Anzac biscuits (cookies made of rolled oats, coconut and syrup) for $5.
