The 11th Annual Big Apple Barbecue Block Party

Get your fill of the best 'cue around as the country's top pit masters band together for this two-day BBQ block party, hosted by Southern Living. Local specialists Kenny Callaghan (Blue Smoke), Charles Grund Jr. (Hill Country) and John Stage (Dinosaur Bar-B-Que) join 14 out-of-staters to serve their best smoked meats, including Callaghan’s salt-and-pepper beef ribs and Alabama pit master Chris Lilly’s pulled-pork shoulder ($9 per plate, or $125 for a FastPass, which gets you $100 worth of food and drinks). Pick up barbecue tips and tricks during a grilling seminar hosted by the Weber Grilling School, or watch Benno and Leo Batali (sons of Mario) demo their blue-cheese pocket burgers from The Batali Brothers Cookbook. Musical headliners Marcia Ball and the Dirty Guv'nahs will jam with blues, country and soul grooves.
