Colombian songman Alejo Aponte has a lovely, warm, scruffy voice, which he applies to hand-clappy, laid-back songs. His new album, Gente, features NYC guitar whiz Marc Ribot and abounds in sunbaked Latin stylings and hip-shaking rhythms.
