It happens all the time, we're sure: A talented young singer-songwriter moves to New York with her family band; works for a decade at a variety of odd jobs, including a singing-waitress gig at Ellen's Stardust Diner; gets discovered by a Nashville talent scout…and then has a song covered by Korean pop troupe Girls' Generation go to No. 1 in South Korea and Japan. Okay, so maybe that doesn't happen all the time, which is all the more reason to go see Allison Veltz play her first NYC show since decamping to Music City last year.
