Jazzwerkstatt, a vital and wide-ranging German jazz label, documents both the work of Berlin artists and that of players visiting the city from abroad. This weekend, the imprint sets up shop in Brooklyn to stage a three-night festival. Tonight's bill features the trios Hyperactive Kid and Der Moment, the latter of which includes veteran percussion wizard Günter "Baby" Sommer. The Sat 27 matinee features Sommer's longstanding duo with pianist Ulrich Gumpert, as well as the trio known as Squakk, while the 8pm show includes bands fronted by trumpeter Paul Brody and octogenarian clarinetist Rolf Kühn. The fest winds down on Sun 28 with saxist Henrik Walsdorff's trio and Gumpert's Workshop Band.
