Betty Buckley is a genuinely eccentric, eccentrically genuine Broadway diva with a special place in the hearts of musical-theater lovers for her starring roles in shows including Cats, Sunset Boulevard and The Mystery of Edwin Drood. More recently, she has favored storytelling songs that highlight her first-rate acting. In her latest set at the ritzy Cafe Carlyle, she performs a mixture of Great American Songbook standards and songs by contemporary songwriters, joined by Christian Jacob on piano, Anthony J. Marino on bass and Jamey Haddad on percussion.
