Time Out says

Part of the 1990s rock en español surge along with Café Tacuba, Maldita Vecindad and Maná, seminal Mexico City band Caifanes integrated prog rock, psychedelia and traditional Mexican elements into its sound over the course of four albums, while honing an iconic stage presence akin to that of U2. An acrimonious breakup in 1995 led to the formation of a new band, Jaguares. But this unanticipated reunion finds the original Caifanes back on the road, where it's already thrilled festival audiences numbering in the tens of thousands in Mexico and California.
