Chick Corea and Marcus Roberts

Chick Corea is no stranger to piano duets, having waxed a potent 1978 session with Herbie Hancock (who joins Corea tomorrow night). But we have to think of this particular duo as the oddest encounter in Corea's birthday engagement: Marcus Roberts is certainly a major star, but his version of swing comes from a whole other bag than does Corea's. Still, creative friction could amount to unimagined thrills.
