Chris Botti

Blue Note Jazz Festival. Part workhorse and part clotheshorse, trumpeter Chris Botti lives out of a suitcase to meet his grueling schedule, yet always looks as if he strolled right out of some posh couturier's salon. As a hornman, Botti's got chops to spare; trouble for jazz fans is that he usually spares them, instead favoring sentimental songs that have earned him a place of honor on PBS pledge drives and in that little stack of CDs on your mom's dresser.
