Frequently referred to as the Barry White of hip-hop, Jamaican-born MC Chubb Rock has been spitting rhymes since 1984—though his output has definitely lessened in the past decade, his only release being 2009’s Bridging the Gap. Still, you can happily holler along to the hits—“Ya Bad Chubbs,” “Treat ’Em Right,” “Just the Two of Us”—at this free outdoor show. Harlem hip-hop head Rob Base (remember that 1988 platinum hit “It Takes Two”?) gets the party started.
