British singer Dan Black, formerly of the band the Servant, has worked with Kid Cudi and played Lollapalooza. In England, he is identified with something called "wonky pop," a term that—please, dear God—will never enter the American lexicon. Class Actress is beguiling Brooklyn singer Elizabeth Harper, now signed to Chris Taylor's Terrible Records; her Journal of Ardency EP is a cool, crisp slice o' synth pop with more than a dash of melancholy.
