L.A. heavy-rock quartet Dead Meadow hasn't quite invented stoner Americana, but it isn't for lack of effort–the band's latest, Three Kings, features live recordings, a concert film and a concept album, all lumped into one beast. If the music is still predominantly black and blue (Sabbath and Cheer), it also includes some unexpected new colors lent by Three Kings' psychedelic proclivities. Opening is the mismatched Star Anna, who makes rootsy, country-driven rock & roll. Tonight she'll play from recent LP Alone in This Together, with help from her backing band, the Laughing Dogs.
