Geri Allen and Carrie Mae Weems: Slow Fade to Black

Majestic, uncategorizable jazz pianist Geri Allen teams up with photographer and video artist Carrie Mae Weems for an ambitious multimedia program. Various Allen projects are on the menu—including her recently founded trio with bassist Esperanza Spalding and drummer Terri Lynn Carrington, and the band Timeline—and guests including singer Lizz Wright and tap dancer Maurice Chestnut are promised. This one should be a real treat.
