Girls + Nobunny + Papa

On its sophomore album, Father, Son, Holy Ghost, San Francisco's Girls mix up psychedelia, bubblegum pop, Nuggets garage rock and surfy riffs. What's pleasing is that the band eschews rosy nostalgia in favor of a deliciously doomy mood. More pleasing still is that freak-punker Nobunny—who wears, like, the scariest mask ever onstage—opens the show.
