Darmstadt Institute 2011. The Philip Glass protégé John Moran took New York by storm in the 1990s with his large-scale music-theater works like The Manson Family (which starred Iggy Pop), Everyday,New Burman (The Trilogy of Cyclic Existence), and Mathew in the School of Life. For the past five years, he has been collaborating with the Japanese dancer Saori Tsukada, creating autobiographical theatrical pieces that feature the two artists as exaggerated versions of themselves and touring mostly around Europe, where they are based. Tonight they perform their newest work, John Moran + Saori (…In Thailand).
