Born in Israel and raised in Paris, supremely stylish singer-songwriter Keren Ann waited to release a song in English until her third solo album, 2003’s Not Going Anywhere; her first two had much more to do with the French pop tradition lorded over by the late Serge Gainsbourg. Having won her a following among Norah Jones’s more adventurous fans, Keren Ann called her next album Nolita, after the Manhattan neighborhood in which she lived at the time, and last year put out 101, titled partly as a tribute to California’s Hollywood Freeway. Expect her to play up stateside influences, though not at the expense of Continental cool.
