After a one-off festival appearance during the summer earned mixed reports, we wondered if Lauryn Hill's putative comeback was on the back burner. But once a spate of relatively intimate East Coast shows materialized almost spontaneously, we started to wonder whether Nicki Minaj's bragging might have lit a fire under Hill, whose record as top-selling female hip-hop artist still stands. Whatever the case may be, this should be interesting.
