Marnie Stern + Little Scream

A true 21st-century singer-songwriter, and an artist for whom that term seems woefully inadequate, Marnie Stern has crafted a groundbreaking fusion of anthemic, confessional indie rock and postprog virtuosity. Stern's new self-titled effort doesn't tell us too much we don't already know about her, but at the same time, it reaffirms our enthusiasm for her hyperactive yet ever-coherent compositional voice.
