Time Out says

The metal tongues referred to in the name of tonight's headliner are the narrow, flexible tines of the African thumb piano known as the kalimba (or its close relative, the mbira). Elliott Bergman, of Afropop outfit Nomo, demonstrates his pluck on an amplified version of the instrument with his trio; sharing the bill is Gamelan Kusuma Laras, a New York group formed to play a set of Javanese instruments left behind after the 1964 World's Fair.
