Miya Masaoka

A koto virtuoso, composer, improviser, electronic musician and provocative performance artist all in one package, Miya Masaoka is one of the local scene's most consistently innovative, satisfying performers. Her set tonight includes an arrangement of Italian mystic Giacinto Scelsi's cello piece Ygghur for 25-string koto, and a new duet with fellow kotoist Akiko Sasaki.
