Mr. Gershwin Goes to Washington

The New York Festival of Song opens the 2012–13 season by getting in the election-day spirit. Mr. Gershwin Goes to Washington is a staged evening of George and Ira Gershwin's best satirical political songs. The narrative follows the trials and tribulations of presidential hopeful John P. Wintergreen, played by Tony winner Marc Kudisch; shimmering soprano Anne-Carolyn Bird is the hopeful First Lady–to-be, and Lauren Worsham is the sexy Diana Devereaux.
