Nelson Mandela Tribute Concert

Brilliant South African vocal ensemble the Soweto Gospel Choir appears alongside Bill Clinton and Morgan Freeman at this premium-priced celebration of the late, legendary leader. The program features readings by Morgan Freeman of Mandela's speeches and letters, sure-to-be-breathtaking performances from the choir and a speech from Bill Clinton (yes, we were hoping he'd play the sax, too). Proceeds benefit the Nelson Mandela Foundation's Centre of Memory. The Soweto Gospel Choir also honors Mandela, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.—sans the special guests and benefit aspect—at a Feb 15 Lehman Center concert.
