Paul Motian, Mark Turner, Tony Malaby and Bill Frisell

Proof positive, if any was needed, that it takes two saxophonists to make up for the absence of Joe Lovano, who couldn't make the first part of the traditional two-week fall run he usually plays with wizardly drummer Paul Motian and eloquent guitar storyteller Bill Frisell. Lovano arrives for the second week; meanwhile, we can savor the interactions of two promient younger hornmen: the gregarious Tony Malaby and the elusive Mark Turner.
