Probably the grooviest band—in the hippie sense, man!—to come out of the first-wave L.A. hardcore scene, Redd Kross transitioned from a frenetic ’80s punk band to a retro-styled ’90s psych outfit with serious power-pop flair. Here the group plays in support of Researching the Blues, its first LP since 1997, which dropped last summer. Local mainstays Habibi open with their jangly, indie-fied neo-girl-group stylings.
