Return to Forever IV + Zappa Plays Zappa

Not the greatest fusion band, but maybe the quintessential one, Return to Forever embodies all that's beloved and divisive about the genre: a chops-forward, dizzyingly notey, heavily funky hybrid of jazz and rock circa, say, 1972. The classic lineup of keyboardist Chick Corea, guitarist Al Di Meola, bassist Stanley Clarke and drummer Lenny White made a reunion jaunt a few years back; this time around, it'll be Corea, Clarke, White, guitarist Frank Gambale and violinist Jean Luc-Ponty taking the stage. Zappa scion Dweezil oversees a tribute to his dad in the opening slot.
