When Southern Culture on the Skids first crept into the public consciousness, it seemed like a novelty, but as the band enters its 20th year with its swamp-rock boogie as fierce as ever, it appears this is one novelty that’s built to last. Jersey's Swingin' Neckbreakers may not have the meatiest garage-pop sound, but their combination of humor and hooks is plenty endearing.
