As disco flamed out during the late ’70s, punk rock fueled underground scenes across the country, with the Del Fuegos whooping and rasping their way through Boston’s bar circuit, building a serious sizzle with their wry lyrics and sinewy throwback sound before parting ways in 1990. Fast-forward to last summer, when the Fuegos saddled up again for back-to-back shows. “We sounded better than ever,” wrote Dan Zanes; now, with sessions for a new EP and an 11-city tour already booked, the Fuegos seem happier than ever, too. Jarana Beat and Dead Exs open Thursday, while the Villalobos Brothers lend support on Saturday.
