The Fieros + Beau Jennings + Smoke Fairies + JD Souther and more

CMJ Music Marathon. You get some pleasingly topsy-turvy bills at CMJ, like this one: Brooklyn-via-Texas combo the Fieros make rambunctious ’60s-style garage pop in the headline slot, while London's Smoke Fairies play like a smokey take on '70s folk outfit Fairport Convention. Oh, and then there's JD Souther, who cowrote hits for the Eagles and Linda Ronstadt and was a prominent session dude; he's now touring for the first time in more than 20 years behind a new album, If the World Was You.
