The Handsome Family's Brett and Rennie Sparks write stark country ballads that mingle old-fashioned acoustic guitar and Autoharp (Brett) with creepy, highly literate lyrics (Rennie). It's delicious stuff; you may have heard their song "Far From Any Road" as the theme song to HBO's True Detective. The Fam shares these bills with rambling folkie Richard Buckner, who adds electric-rock ornamentation to his lyrical, heartrending tales of love lost. On Aug 29, Cereus Bright also performs.
